Giambattista Valli Haute Couture 2015

I love everything about Paris Couture week, and as always I feel compelled and inspired to draw as soon as the looks hit the runway!
Giambattista Valli never EVER fails to amaze, everything floral, embroidered and frilly - Of course!
I decided to draw this look that features a beautiful silk flower covered bodice and chiffon skirt.
I hope you like!
I used pencil for the main part and watercolour for the skirt, which I think worked quite well to show the flowy-ness of the skirt. I discovered Art Masking Fluid the other day, (and I'm currently obsessed lol) and decided to use it on this piece to mask out the white embroidered flowers on the skirt - It worked like a treat!
Anyway, heres some snaps from the Giambattista Valli show and backstage :)

Feeling Fruity

I am sooo sorry I havn't posted in so long, I have been so busy, but I promise I will be updating my blog much more often :)

Anyway, inspired by summer fruity vibes and bright colours, I decided to do a beauty / fashion illustration series featuring some of my fav summer fruits; lemon, watermelon and pineapple.
Hope you like them!
I used my usual pencil and watercolour for all these and the originals and prints are available for purchase in my etsy store - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AnnabelleKingg

If your following me on instagram you'll probably be thinking, this is SUCH a late post - which it is. But, you'll also know that I've recently been away holidaying in Turkey so I guess I have a good excuse to why I havn't been posting ;) Haha!

Expect a few more posts following this one including one about my home from home, Turkey :)

Zimmermann Resort 2015

Zimmermann's collections are usually stunning but this collection has to be my favorite so far. Zimmermann's luxe beachwear designs make me so much more excited for summer, the lacy cutwork, subtle florals, and stunning structured swimwear - which in my opinion is way too pretty to wear to the beach!

Anyway, I hope you like my illustration, the lace honestly took ages!

Here are some of my faves from the collection;

Liquid GOLD

 Liquid Gold
By Annabelle King

A few months back I came across the most beautiful editorial shot by Sandro Baebler for Fashion Gone Rogue that features stunning gowns by one of my favourite designers, Alexander McQueen.
So I went ahead and asked Sandro Baebler if I could have the pleasure of illustrating this editorial, to which he said yes!
The images are so romantic and decadent, they actually took my breath away.
With hints of gold throughout the spread, I thought I would make a feature of the gold in my illustration by using metallic paint and who doesn't love a bit of gold?!

Here are a few images from the editorial but make sure you check out the full editorial on fashiongonerogue.com!
